The proposed E-kesihatan online computer system will allow appointed clinics to send medical reports of commercial vehicle drivers directly to the Road Transport Department.

Earlier, Ong presented scrolls to 507 graduates, including the first six students who obtained the Master’s degree from the university.

In his speech, Ong told students that the learning process did not end after obtaining the degree.

“In fact, it is your ticket to a world full of possibilities and endless opportunities. In this fast changing world, you must continue to acquire new knowledge, skills and approaches.

“If the skills are not relevant for the task in hand, you need to unlearn and relearn new abilities. The process of lifelong learning will put you ahead from the rest in terms of personal development, knowledge, skills, competitiveness and employability,” he said.

Regardless of age, Ong said everyone should continue learning, as it was a lifetime process.

“Take courses and attend seminars that explore the frontiers of emerging fields, where new knowledge and understanding are created,” he said.

University president Tan Sri Dr Ng Lay Swee said over 9,000 graduates had contributed their expertise and knowledge to the economy since its inaugural convocation in August 2005.

“They have built a strong track record in the many sectors they work in, be it in the local or global market,” she said.
